RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT: BANGLADESHI COMMUNITY REGENERATION IN THE UK.

With a population surpassing 652K, a deep understanding of the Bangladeshi community living in the UK is an essential starting point to plan new, meaningful and sustainable community regeneration programmes. The Bangladeshi Regeneration Council believes that focusing on community led research will give the community an important voice and an opportunity to influence policy and enable the community to become creators instead of just consumers of services. The Bangladeshi Regeneration Council is therefore committed to undertaking ongoing research by Community Researchers to obtain a consensus of individual and family life, problems, and aspirations of the community and to identify innovative and entrepreneurial ways in which they can be addressed more effectively at a local, regional and national level.

BRC’s research and development programme is innovative because the subject of regeneration and renewal of the Bangladeshi community in the UK, in its complexity and entirety, has been under-researched and under-considered. We hope that the existence of a large amount of positive energy among the community emerges from this study will be directed and used for new and improved service development. BRC will maintain a Research Journal containing the research articles for academic audience.
